AUTOMATED PROCESSES

Modern Aluminum Castings has invested in state-of-the-art equipment so we can offer you the highest quality castings available. We've automated our processes from start to finish, virtually eliminating the chance for human error and assuring more consistency, greater precision, less scrap and higher productivity. This means lower production costs and lower per-part costs for our customers.


EXPERT PATTERN MAKING

Modern Aluminum was founded by an expert pattern maker, and continues that tradition of expertise today. Our complete Pattern Department, specializing in wood and metal patterns, can assist you with new pattern toolings, prompt design changes and tooling maintenance.


SKILLFUL CORE-MAKING

About 60% of our castings involve cores, with some requiring up to seven cores or more. Core work is an art, and few casting companies can compete with Modern Aluminum's special knowledge and core capabilities. Our Core Department processes include shell, oil sand, warm box and cold box. No matter how complicated, we can meet the most demanding Core specifications.


PRECISION MOLDING

In our Molding Department, our traditional jolt-squeezer and rota-lift machines compliment our new Beardsley and Piper automatic molding machines with Series VII Continu-Matic mold-handling systems. Our automated sand system and automated materials handling enhance our precise molding operation.


EFFICIENT FINISHING

In our Finishing Department, our unique automated transfer of castings enables our operators to concentrate on specific processes, resulting in increased efficiency, productivity and safety. Finishing includes a variety of processes including heat treatments, coatings, machining and surface treatments such as vibratory finishes and shotblasting.
